Family Friendly Training That Solves Your Problems. Classes, Private Sessions, Or We Can Train Your Dog For You!

I am co-shelter manager at a local Cincinnati shelter. We are very thankful to have Carla from Positive Paws helping us with our dogs at the shelter. She holds fun training classes and helps us with some of our more challenging dogs. She is very good at showing us (as shelter workers) how to handle the dogs properly and teaching us how to be calm around them which is very important in a shelter environment. Carla cares a lot about helping all dogs be the best they can be! She has worked wonders with our dogs! Thanks, Carla!

Is your dog shy, hyper, or out of control?
”Call to have a well-behaved family member!”

  • Training for everyday life situations.

  • Small classes to ensure individual attention for all.

  • Private sessions and we teach you.

  • Board and training. . . we do the work for you.

  • Dog club. . . we train your dog while you are at work.

  • Individual programs for dogs who are aggressive, and/or fearful or have any unwanted behavior.

We treat each pet and family as an individual.

We treat each dog as an individual by observing you and your dog and giving you direction that will help you succeed. What works for one dog may not work for another. An example of that would be one dog only jumps up on people to greet them while another jumps up and then grabs the clothes. We would handle that situation as an individual issue for each family. Our classes are designed to give you the attention required.

Sisters are forever!

Sisters are forever!

I had a consultation with Carla because one of my dogs would attack the other. Within 2 sessions, I had learned the physical signs of the dogs to know when an attack may occur, and why. Now, after 5 sessions, my dogs can be together without any attacks, and I am the leader! She saved me from having to give away (or put down) my aggressive dog, and I can’t thank her enough for that! She truly is a great trainer and has taught me much.

PRIVATE CLASSES IN YOUR HOME OR OUR FACILITY

We do offer private classes for those who enjoy training and wants to be actively involved with the training process.  Work with a professional trainer one on one and learn the steps to achieve a well behaved dog you can enjoy!  Private classes are designed to provide individualized instruction to fit your goals. They will be scheduled for your convenience and can be provided at your home or our training facility. All private classes begin with a private consult to evaluate your dogs skills and determine your training goals. To discuss your specific needs, please contact us by phone: (513)312-6596.

PRIVATE BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT CONSULT

This is a private class to help determine issues that are affecting your dog. There are a number of considerations to look at when dealing with behavioral issues. First rule out any medical issues with your veterinarian. Identify environmental factors that may be affecting the behavior. This will allow us to develop a plan to enable your success with behavior modification.

BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION CONSULT

Behavior modification addresses the underlying reasons for the problem behaviors. This enables you to teach your dog not to do the behavior and to replace it with a desired one! Obedience classes they are not designed to effectively address severely disruptive dog behaviors. For example if a dog is fearful teaching a sit does not resolve the fear issues.

Behavior modification provides techniques that can help with issues such as fear, aggression, house breaking, separation anxiety, chewing on furniture and barking.

 Boarding

Send your Best Friend to Camp While You Are on Vacation!

Boarding
We offer boarding in a home, not a kennel. Carla opens her own home to be a “home away from home” for your dogs. She has an acre of fenced outdoor play area to play in and a climate controlled indoor play area. The dogs get to run and play and be a dog! Special needs cases are welcome. Because your canine family member would have the benefit of staying in Carla’s home, you can take advantage of having your dog trained during the stay.

Board and Training Programs – There Are No Additional Fees For Boarding!
Positive Paws board and train programs are designed whether you have a dog needing basic manners, behavior , puppies or looking to enrich your dogs life. The beauty of this program is it is not “cookie cutter” training; it is customized for each family and dog to ensure you have the perfect training goals for your dog. We’ve designed our training program to fit into your everyday life using everyday life lessons. A program will be designed exclusively for your dog and your goals. Each dog staying for boarding and training will receive multiple one -on-one sessions each day.

All dogs staying overnight will be in a home not a kennel. This will permit us to apply the commands to everyday life. In addition to your dogs stay your dog will get exercise and socialization while playing with other dogs.

When you take your dog home these methods do not require “hours per day” of practice – you will simply use them whenever you are interacting with your dog – even if it’s just for a few minutes.

Board and Train programs include one consult before the visit. This permits us to set up a program just for you! After the stay we will meet with you to discuss what your dog has learned and teach you how to apply it.

Please email or call us for availability and pricing.
